Vero Beach Plastic Surgeon Uses Advanced Breast Augmentation Techniques to Reduce Recovery Time

Dr. John Sarbak discusses how recovery time for breast augmentation surgery can be minimized through the use of innovative techniques.

VERO BEACH, FL — In 2012, breast augmentation surgery was the most commonly performed surgical cosmetic procedure in the United States, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Each patient seeking breast augmentation has different aesthetic goals, and Vero Beach plastic surgeon John Sarbak, MD says by providing the best possible care to each individual, he can help to meet these goals. He says patients at his office consider breast implants for a variety of reasons, including the desire to enlarge their breast size, create improved symmetry between the breasts, add volume to the breasts after pregnancy or weight loss, and to simply enhance their own self-image and self-confidence.

Dr. Sarbak spends time with patients to detail the procedure, recovery process, and alternatives to ensure each patient understands the treatment and how their breasts can be enhanced in a way that is best for their individual goals. Dr. Sarbak maintains that he is one of the only plastic surgeons in the Southeastern United States who offers the full range of breast enhancement surgery techniques and a variety of methods to create natural-looking results and a minimal recovery time.

In a recent blog post entitled “Dr. John Sarbak Details What Patients Can Expect from Breast Augmentation Surgery,” the plastic surgeon explains how breast implants can be placed through a variety of access points, depending on the patient’s needs and goals. Patients can typically opt for incisions within the breast crease, around the nipple, through the armpit, or through the belly button. Dr. Sarbak says that going through the belly button for breast implants offers the quickest recovery as opposed to going through the breast. This technique is called transumbilical breast augmentation, or TUBA.

Dr. Sarbak says recovery time from TUBA can be as little as 24 to 48 hours. He notes some patients may even be able to go for a walk, go to the mall, go out to dinner, and enjoy other activities as normal within two hours after surgery. Dr. Sarbak says that his patients are advised to return his office the day after surgery for an evaluation to ensure healing and recovery is going smoothly.

Dr. Sarbak recommends that anyone interested in breast augmentation surgery should schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to talk about their options and have a detailed discussion about what they can expect from the procedure.
